Plate Heat Exchangers

One of the important equipment for transferring heat between two or more fluids is the Plate Heat Exchanger which makes use of metal plate for transmitting the thermal power from one fluid to the other. The advantage of using this type of heat exchanger over others is that it provides a larger surface area and the fluids can be spread out easily over the plates. This helps to increases the rate of heat transfer and speed of temperature change. The design of Plate Heat Exchanger is suited for transferring heat between low and medium pressure fluids. The plates are highly resistant to rust and are surrounded by gaskets that control flow of fluid.
